Derbe Island Friese women's softshell jacket – comfortable in changeable weather

That kind of jacket you put on in the morning when you're not really sure what the weather is going to do. The Derbe Island Friese is a comfortable softshell jacket for changeable days when you could use some warmth and protection, but don't yet need a thick jacket.

The supple stretch fabric is windproof, breathable and has a water column of 5,000 mm. On the inside, the soft fleece lining provides extra warmth and comfort.

So, it's a lovely transitional jacket, for a walk, a bike ride or just every day.

The Lava Smoke / Grey has a cool, faded grey outer colour with a calm grey interior. A modern and neutral combination that easily pairs with black, denim and natural shades. Just a little different from black or dark blue, but just as easy to wear.

A wonderful jacket for between seasons

The Island Friese is pre-eminently a jacket that you wear much more often than just when rain is forecast.

The soft fleece lining provides just enough warmth for spring and autumn days and cool summer days. At the same time, the jacket does not feel heavy or stiff. The stretch in the softshell ensures that it moves comfortably with you while walking and cycling.

And if it's windy? You're still good: the outer fabric is windproof.

And if it rains?

This softshell is prepared for that too. The material has a water column of 5,000 mm and is therefore highly resistant to a rain shower.

However, the Island Friese is a softshell jacket and not a technical rain jacket with fully taped seams. If you are specifically looking for a jacket to walk or cycle for a long time in pouring rain, we recommend a fully waterproof rain jacket.

But for that typical changeable weather where sun, wind and a rain shower alternate? This jacket is wonderful for that.

Beautiful as you want to wear it

With the drawstring in the waist, you can determine how the Island Friese fits. Wear it nice and loose or cinch the waist a bit for a more feminine silhouette.

The hood is also adjustable and the cuffs can be narrowed with snap fasteners. The back extends slightly longer in a subtle fishtail, which not only looks nice but also provides some extra protection.

The double 2-way zipper can be opened from the bottom for more freedom of movement on the bike. Two slash pockets with snap fasteners offer space for your daily essentials.

Fit and size advice

According to Derbe, the Island Friese has a normal fit. Thanks to the stretch fabric, the jacket feels comfortable and with the drawstring, you can adjust the waist as desired.

The model in the product photos is 176 cm tall and wears size 38.

Made with care

Derbe uses recycled polyester for both the outer fabric and the fleece lining. This way, existing materials are given a new purpose and fewer new raw materials are needed.

The PFC-free BIONIC-FINISH® ECO treatment makes the outer fabric water-repellent without the use of harmful fluorinated compounds.
