Derbe Island Friese women's softshell jacket – comfortable in changeable weather

The flexible stretch fabric is windproof, breathable, and has a water column of 5,000 mm. Inside, the soft fleece lining provides extra warmth and comfort.

A wonderful jacket for between seasons

The Island Friese is pre-eminently a jacket that you will wear much more often than just when rain is predicted.

The soft fleece lining provides just enough warmth for spring and autumn days, and cool summer days. At the same time, the jacket doesn't feel heavy or stiff. The stretch in the softshell ensures it moves comfortably with you while walking and cycling.

And if it's windy? You're also well-protected: the outer fabric is windproof.

And if it rains?

This softshell is also prepared for that. The material has a water column of 5,000 mm, making it highly resistant to a rain shower.

However, the Island Friese is a softshell jacket and not a technical rain jacket with fully taped seams. If you are specifically looking for a jacket to walk or cycle in pouring rain for extended periods, we recommend a fully waterproof rain jacket.

But for that typical changeable weather where sun, wind, and a rain shower alternate? This jacket is just wonderful for that.

Beautiful, just how you want to wear it

With the drawstring at the waist, you can decide how the Island Friese fits. Wear it loosely or cinch the waist slightly for a more feminine silhouette.

The hood is also adjustable, and the cuffs can be tightened with snap buttons. The back extends slightly longer in a subtle fishtail, which not only looks nice but also provides extra protection.

The double 2-way zipper can be opened from the bottom for more freedom of movement on the bike. Two slash pockets with snap buttons offer space for your daily essentials.

Fit and size advice

The Island Friese has a regular fit according to Derbe. Thanks to the stretch fabric, the jacket feels comfortable, and with the drawstring, you can adjust the waist as desired.

The model in the product photos is 176 cm tall and wears size 38.

Derbe uses recycled polyester for both the outer fabric and the fleece lining. This gives existing materials a new purpose and reduces the need for new raw materials.

The PFC-free BIONIC-FINISH® ECO treatment makes the outer fabric water-repellent without the use of harmful fluorocarbons.
