Seasalt Plant Hunter – warm waterproof women's winter parka

A winter coat that looks good, feels wonderfully warm, and keeps you dry when it rains? The Seasalt Plant Hunter is such a coat that you'll happily wear every day, even when the weather is less inviting.

This warm winter parka combines Seasalt's characteristic British style with excellent technical features. With a water column of 5,000 mm, fully taped seams, and breathability of 5,000 g/m²/24 hours, you are well protected against rain and wind.

Inside, soft fleece and warm padding ensure that the Plant Hunter feels wonderfully cozy even on cold autumn and winter days.

Midnight is a deep dark blue color and a timeless alternative to black. Calm, stylish, and incredibly easy to combine.

A color you'll enjoy for years, which can be worn both sportily and more formally.

Waterproof and breathable

The Plant Hunter is part of the Seasalt RAIN® collection and is truly made for changeable weather.

The breathable material helps to wick away heat and perspiration. This makes the Plant Hunter not only great for daily use but also for a longer walk or an active day outdoors.

Typical Plant Hunter: practical with a feminine fit

The Plant Hunter has a relaxed waisted fit. With the drawstring at the waist, you can decide how much shape you want to give the coat.

The back is also typically parka: the hem is a bit longer and has a shaped split. This provides extra protection and at the same time sufficient freedom of movement.

Furthermore, the Plant Hunter has:

• An adjustable hood with soft fleece lining
• Adjustable cuffs with snap fasteners
• Zipper and snap fasteners at the front
• Practical front pockets with protective flap

Plant Hunter or Janelle?

Now that we have several warm Seasalt coats in the collection, it's helpful to know which one suits you best.

Choose the Plant Hunter if you:

• Prefer to accentuate the waist with a drawstring yourself
• Appreciate the combination of organic cotton and recycled nylon
• Are looking for a warm waterproof coat with a somewhat tougher, natural look

Choose the long Janelle Coat if you:

• Want a longer coat, to about the knee
• Are looking for as much coverage as possible against rain and cold
• Prefer a smooth recycled nylon outer fabric
• Appreciate the waterproof back zipper for extra freedom of movement

And if you want a shorter model? Then the Janelle Jacket is a great option.

All three are warm, waterproof, and breathable Seasalt jackets. The difference lies mainly in length, material, appearance, and fit.

Material

Outer fabric: 68% organic cotton and 32% recycled nylon

Fleece lining upper body and hood: 100% recycled polyester

Lining lower body and sleeves: 100% recycled polyester

Padding: 100% recycled polyester

The outer fabric is made from Seasalt Tin Cloth®: a family of strong twill fabrics that Seasalt has specially developed for waterproof clothing.

The combination of organic cotton and recycled nylon also gives the Plant Hunter a different look than a fully synthetic rain jacket.

Made with care

Seasalt uses both organic and recycled materials for the Plant Hunter. The cotton in the outer fabric is organic, and recycled fibers are used for the nylon, lining, and padding.

The waterproof coating is also PFC-free and made without perfluorinated compounds harmful to the environment.

"The Plant Hunter has been in our collection for years, and I think it's such a typical Seasalt jacket. At first glance, it mainly looks like a beautiful parka, but it's also completely waterproof, windproof, and breathable. And thanks to the fleece and warm lining, it's a wonderfully comfortable jacket for autumn and winter. Just keep in mind the size: it runs smaller than you might expect. I normally wear 38/M and choose size 40 for the Plant Hunter."
