The holidays are (almost) over.
The alarm clock will go off earlier again, bags are being packed, and before you know it, you'll be standing in the schoolyard in the morning or on your way to the office.
Back to work. Back to school. Back to the Dutch weather. 😉
And it's precisely during this period that the weather can go in all directions. Warm during the day, a chilly morning, and a sudden rain shower in between.
What do you wear then?
Fortunately, you don't have to choose between beautiful and practical. All jackets at Hipinderegen are raincoats: waterproof, windproof, and breathable. Only you can't tell from the outside.
From a light unlined raincoat to softshell and the first lined models: which jacket suits you best mainly depends on what your day looks like.
From the schoolyard straight to the office
Dropping the kids off at school in the morning and then heading straight to work?
Then you want a jacket that simply goes with you all day.
A good raincoat protects against rain and wind, but looks like a jacket you would happily wear on a dry day too.
That's precisely why at Hipinderegen, we select raincoats that you can't even tell are raincoats from the outside.
Cycling? Look beyond just waterproofing
Those who regularly cycle to school or work have different demands for a jacket.
For example, pay attention to:
- a two-way zipper, so you can move more easily;
- sufficient length to protect your upper legs as well;
- a good hood that stays in place comfortably;
- sufficient breathability, so that warmth and perspiration can escape more easily while cycling;
- extra room for movement or a bike flap/gusset.
Especially on a longer bike ride, these details make all the difference.

Still warm during the day? Choose an unlined raincoat
August and September can still be wonderfully warm during the day.
A thick coat is absolutely not necessary then.
A light, unlined raincoat is ideal for this period. You have protection against wind and rain, without immediately wearing a warm winter coat.
And if it gets sunny later in the day? Then you just wear it open and you still have a stylish jacket on.

Chilly mornings? Then softshell is lovely
Do you know those mornings when you step out the door and think: oh, colder than expected after all?
That's where softshell comes in.
Our softshell raincoats have a high water column, are waterproof and windproof, and have a soft fleece lining on the inside. This gives them just a bit more warmth than an unlined raincoat.
The fabric is waterproof, but because not all seams are taped on softshell, we do not recommend these jackets for hours of torrential rain.
For school, work, walking, cycling, and everyday changeable weather, they are delightful.

And yes... the first winter coats are already allowed
A winter coat in summer temperatures?
That might feel a bit early.
Still, every year we see that the first waterproof winter coats are already sold as soon as they arrive.
And we understand why.
Those who have a certain color or size in mind often look earlier. Especially popular models and sizes are sometimes sold well before the first truly cold days begin.
Not the entire winter collection is in yet, but the first models and accessories are already here.
See what's already in for autumn and winter.
Which jacket suits your daily rhythm?
Ultimately, there isn't one perfect Back to Work jacket.
Do you primarily drive or walk short distances?
Then a light, unlined raincoat is often lovely.
Do you cycle every morning?
Then look at length, a two-way zipper, and sufficient freedom of movement.
Do you get cold easily or do you leave early?
Then softshell is nice for the first chilly days. If it gets really colder, you can switch to a winter coat.
Do you want to be prepared for the colder months already?
Then feel free to take a look at the first winter raincoats.
Because whether you're going to the office, standing in the schoolyard, or jumping on your bike: a raincoat no longer has to look like a raincoat.
And that makes getting back into the rhythm just a little bit more fun. 😉
