Why rain isn't actually that bad 🌧️

After a few warm days, you suddenly hear it everywhere.

"Finally..."

The windows open.
The temperature drops.
The air feels fresh again.

And suddenly everyone seems to breathe a sigh of relief.

Quite remarkable, actually.

Funny, really. A few weeks ago, we were all longing for sunshine. Now a fresh rain shower suddenly feels like a gift.

🌿 Rain does more than you think

Rain may not always be convenient.
But it is very welcome.

Nature revives.

After a few dry weeks, everything seems to breathe again.

Plants regain color.
The air feels cleaner.

And after a stuffy heatwave, you often finally sleep well again.

Sometimes we just need that rain.

🚶 Rain doesn't have to change your plans

Many people stay indoors as soon as it starts raining.

A pity, really.

Because a walk during a light rain shower can be surprisingly relaxing.

Calmer.
Fresher.
And often much less crowded than on a sunny day.

With the right rain jacket, a little rain doesn't have to be a reason to stay home.

We long for the sun until it gets too hot.

Then we long for rain.
And as soon as the rain lasts a few days, we secretly long for the sun again.

Precisely because the weather is so varied, we experience every sunny terrace, every refreshing walk, and even that unexpected rain shower a little more consciously.

Perhaps that is the charm of a Dutch summer.
No two days are the same. And perhaps that is precisely why we enjoy the beautiful days so much.

You never know exactly what the day will bring.
