28 degrees one day, rain the next. Which jacket do you wear?
Welcome to a Dutch summer. 😉
Yesterday you were still seeking shade because it was 28 degrees. Today you look out the window and wonder if you need a jacket.
Typical Netherlands.
That's precisely why more and more women are choosing not a thick summer jacket, but a light rain jacket that's always ready.
Not because it rains every day...
But because you never quite know when it will.
🌦️ Why a Dutch summer calls for a different jacket
In countries like Spain or Italy, you can go out for weeks without a jacket.
In the Netherlands, it works a little differently.
The temperature can vary by tens of degrees in a single day, and a summer afternoon often ends with a heavy shower or a fresh wind.
A good summer jacket therefore doesn't need to be warm.
Above all, it should:
✔ be comfortable to wear
✔ protect against wind and rain
✔ be easy to carry
✔ and look good, so you actually wear it.
🚶 For a walk or a day out
Do you enjoy walking, visiting a city, or having a drink on a terrace?
Then you want a jacket you hardly feel, but one that protects you when the weather changes.
A comfortable rain jacket is often the best choice.
It's comfortable and ensures that an unexpected rain shower doesn't disrupt your plans.

🚲 Cycling often?
Then you'll be looking for different features.
Such as:
✔ a longer back
✔ a two-way zipper
✔ sufficient freedom of movement
✔ a jacket that remains comfortable even during a rain shower.
Do you cycle daily?
Then a longer rain jacket or a model with an insert can make a big difference.

🌿 Softshell or rain jacket?
That's also a question we often get.
A softshell jacket is comfortable, has a soft fleece lining, and is ideal for changeable weather.
Our softshells also have a high water column, making them perfectly capable of handling a rain shower.
Only with prolonged or heavy rain are fully taped rain jackets better protected.
So it's not about right or wrong.
It's about the question:
What will you be using your jacket for?

💡 What to look for in a summer jacket?
A good summer jacket doesn't have to be thick.
In fact.
A light jacket that's easy to put on is one you'll take with you much more often.
Therefore, pay attention to:
✔ Waterproofing
✔ Breathability
✔ Freedom of movement
✔ A comfortable hood
✔ A style that suits your daily use
That way, you'll have a jacket you'll enjoy not only today but all season long.
🌧️ Being a little prepared is actually quite nice
We can't change the weather.
But we can be prepared for it.
And perhaps that's the charm of a Dutch summer.
Slippers one day.
A rain jacket the next.
And both again a day later. 😉
With the right jacket, you won't have to hesitate when you look outside anymore.
