Door de brede, naar achteren uitlopende rand wordt voorkomen dat de regen in je kraag komt. De zuidwester is veiliger op de fiets, want het zicht is beter dan met een capuchon. De 'one-size' zuidwester is verstelbaar met een elastisch koord.
